Piocreat:How to deal with the tilt or layer misalignment of the 3D printed luminous character model?

2021/12/14

When we are 3D printing luminous characters, the beauty and success rate of the model are often determined by some details. If the details are not handled well, various weird shapes may appear, such as tilt, unevenness, and misalignment. The editor of Piocrat i will conduct an in-depth analysis on these issues today, so that we can use the advertising 3D printer more reasonably and correctly.

●Question 1: The model is inclined/uneven without special setting of hypotenuse or irregular characters.

●Reason:
1. The printer speed is too fast.
2. The belt synchronization gear screw is not tightened.
3. The nozzle structure is not reinforced, and the connecting plate shakes.
4. The Z-axis screw rod is not straight enough.

●How to deal with:
1. Adjust appropriately according to the printing speed as instructed by the machine manual.
2. Check the belt synchronization gear screw and reinforce it as needed.
3. Check the connecting plate of the nozzle structure and reinforce it as needed.
4. Check the Z-axis screw rod and replace the rod that is not straight.

●Reason:
1. The printer speed is too fast.
2. The belt synchronization gear screw is not tightened.
3. The nozzle structure is not reinforced, and the connecting plate shakes.
4. The Z-axis screw rod is not straight enough.

●Question 2: Layer dislocation.

●Reason:
1. The print head of X or Y axis is not easy to move.
2. The X or Y axis is not aligned, which means that it does not form a 100% right angle.
3. There are pulleys that are not fixed in place.

●Processing method:
1. Turn off the power of the printer and try your bare hands to see if you can easily move the axes.
2. If it feels stiff or easier/difficult to move in a certain direction, apply a drop of sewing machine oil on the shaft.
3. In addition, check whether the axes are aligned: move the print head to the left and right sides of the printer, check the distance between the sliders and the pulleys on both sides.
4. Repeat this step to check the front and back of the printer. If there is a misalignment, loosen the problematic pulley screw.
5. Push the slider slightly, align the shaft, and then tighten the screw. Repeat the above steps for the other axis.
6. Check whether the screws of the pulley are tight. Reinforce if necessary.
