The world's first 3D printing car appears in Hefei

2022/08/11

On the afternoon of August 9, in the Changbai science and Technology Park of Xinzhan high tech Zone, a light electric vehicle with smooth appearance, xev-yoyo, was parked in the exhibition hall of Hefei Youyao Technology Co., Ltd. As the main product of Hefei Youyao, xev-yoyo is "born" in 3D printing technology. It is the world's first mass-produced electric vehicle with 3D printing technology for body interior and exterior trim.

Xev-yoyo, the world's first mass-produced electric vehicle with 3D printing technology for body interior and exterior trim.

"The production time of 3D printed cars is shorter and the cost is lower. It takes only two weeks for a car to design and output parts, and about three to six months for ordinary cars." Introduced by Wu Jiawei, additive manufacturing director of Hefei Youyao Technology Co., Ltd.

Xev electric vehicles do not need the molds used in traditional automobile manufacturing, and truly achieve flexible production customized on demand, reducing the research and development time and cost investment of the whole vehicle by more than 80%. At present, Hefei Youyao has realized the 3D printing of the door panel, front face and tail wing, and is still in the process of unlocking the "printing" of various parts of the car.

A fully charged xev-yoyo has a maximum endurance of 150 kilometers and a maximum speed of about 80 kilometers per hour.

When the electric energy is exhausted, it takes only 3-5 minutes to replace the battery at the designated place; Or it can be fully charged in 3-4 hours by using a household charging pile. In major European countries, urban travel, short-distance travel, picking up and sending children to and from school... This smart electric vehicle has entered a rich life scene.

Xev-yoyo, the world's first mass-produced electric vehicle with 3D printing technology for body interior and exterior trim, partially customized body trim.
"In the field of new energy vehicles, Hefei has the advantages of supply chain and R & D talents." In November 2020, Hefei Youyao settled in the new station high tech Zone, with a total investment of 600 million yuan.

In February 2021, the first batch of 40 3D printing prototype vehicles were successfully delivered. Today, Hefei Youyao has 50 3D printers and can produce 3000-4000 electric vehicles every year.

At present, xev has independently developed yoyo 3D printing electric vehicle platform, including chassis system, body electronic system, suspension system and other vehicle body structure and interior and exterior decoration design. The 3D printing of the whole vehicle can not only improve the integration strength of the vehicle body, but also customize the "skin".

"This year's sales volume is twice that of the same period last year, which can meet the customized needs of small customer groups." Wu Jiawei said.

Next year, the popular xev-yoyo will be sold in China at the same time. The top speed of the high-speed version of xev-yoyo will reach 100 kilometers per hour and can be driven on intercity highways. The interior trim and seats of the car will be adjusted to improve the comfort and functionality so as to meet the driving habits of Chinese people.

Piocreat pellet 3D printers G12 and G40 are widely used in the manufacturing industry, such as automobile, aviation, bathroom and other fields. They are suitable for a variety of particle materials and can meet the different needs of customers for parts performance.
