What are the precautions during the operation of the LCD 3D printer?

2022/08/26

With the same photo curing 3D printer, why do some people print beautiful models with almost no defects, but some people print rough models? If you don't know, you may think it is the problem of the machine. However, as long as the machine is shipped by a regular brand manufacturer, the quality is generally OK. Can we think about the problem from the operational level?

1、 Modeling and exporting STL data
In the case of applying three-dimensional modeling software, you can save it or import it into STL format. If you don't understand how to import it into STL format, you can search Baidu for the way to import it into STL format. Usually, there are online tutorials.
2、 Is there any problem with the test model
In general, we propose to apply magic software to test our model
Magics is specialized in handling STL files. It has the advantages of powerful, practical and efficient. It is an indispensable software in the field of 3D printing. It is often used in parts placement, model repair, support addition, size detection and other links.
Part repair information → update → repair → save part as STL
Check the data of the reverse normal direction, the bad side and the noise shell inside, and click the subsequent repair. All the data except the shell and the high level are displayed as 0, which indicates that the model is normal.
3、 Model slice
Precautions for model slicing
(1) It is better to choose a smooth surface at the bottom without any holes.
(2) Do not select the largest contact surface to be close to the bottom plate
(3) The bottom end rises by 5mm, and all supports are selected
(4) Check out some unsteaded supports
Some positions close to the bottom plate need to be supported at multiple points to ensure that they can be fully supported. If the support is too sparse, the model will fall during printing.
Then the model can be imported into pngzip format print model according to the previous slicing tutorial.
4、 Preparation for machine printing before printing
1. Application consumables: before the application of photosensitive resin, shake it slightly to the left and right. Do not shake it vigorously to generate a large number of bubbles.
2. Contact with consumables: do not directly contact with photosensitive resin or contact with eyes. If skin allergy or discomfort is caused, please rinse with water immediately. If the situation is serious, please avoid medical treatment.
3. Selection of consumables: it is proposed to apply the consumables proposed by the manufacturer to prevent damage to the printer.
4. Storage of consumables: when the photosensitive resin is not used, it can be filtered and recycled into the bottle, or the material tank can be covered with something to avoid direct sunlight and strong light, and prevent dust from entering.
If some industrial models need to be printed, it is proposed to apply special high-precision industrial consumables.
If some dental models need to be printed, it is proposed to apply special castable dental consumables.
If some jewelry models need to be printed, it is proposed to apply special castable jewelry consumables.
In fact, there are many kinds of light curing consumables, including castable and non manufacturable.
5、 Print model
1. Machine placement: do not place the machine around inflammable and explosive objects or high heat sources. Please place the machine in a ventilated, cool and less dusty environment.
2. Power socket: the power plug should be connected to the three hole socket with ground wire. Please use the power cord attached to the machine. Do not use the power cord of other products to replace it during installation.
3. Machine placement environment: do not place the printer in a vibration or other unstable environment. The machine shaking will interfere with the printing quality of the printer.
4. Check the fixed position: before printing, it is necessary to check whether the knob on the platform and the fixed position on the chute are clamped to avoid instability during printing.
5. Check the screen illumination: before applying the machine, check whether the screen illumination is normal. Please wear anti ultraviolet glasses. Do not look directly at the screen to prevent damage to the eyes.
6、 Inspection before printing
1. Check the chute: print after it is clear that there are no sundries in the chute. If you are not sure whether there are residues in the chute, please use the tray of the machine to remove them, and then remove the solidified surface in the chute. Remember not to touch the release film in the chute with a metal blade.
2. Inspection of exposure time: during printing, check whether the exposure time meets the specified range of consumables, so as to avoid model expansion caused by overexposure of printing time or unshaping caused by too little time.
For different machines, the size of the model and the amount of support are all parameters that interfere with the exposure time. Therefore, customers who have just started light curing 3D printing can first ask professional technicians to understand the range of parameters, and then try to test the printing effect and correspondingly change the parameters of the appropriate model printing.
3. Printing environment: do not apply in the space with direct sunlight or strong light. The machine should be clean in the air without obvious floating objects. The temperature is 26 ± 5 ° C. for high-quality printing quality, please print in the indoor constant temperature environment.
7、 Post processing process of parts
Many friends who have come into contact with 3D printing will say that the works printed by others are bright and look tall, while the models printed by themselves are rough and not very beautiful. In fact, these are all problems that need to be solved in the post-processing process of parts to ensure the realization of high-precision and high-quality qualified parts.
1. Removal: after the common parts are manufactured and realized, please wear protective gloves when taking the model for operation. When the metal blade is removed, it can be cleaned with alcohol first. After the model is printed, please clean the platform and then take down the chute to avoid the resin dripping on the forming platform onto the screen.
2. Cleaning: after the parts are removed, it is better to use TPM (trimethylene glycol methyl ether) for cleaning, or use anhydrous industrial alcohol instead of medical alcohol and edible alcohol with high water content. For slender and thin-walled parts, the immersion time in alcohol and other organic detergents shall not exceed 1 minute, otherwise the sample is easy to soften and deform; For thicker parts, the soaking time shall not exceed 3 minutes as far as possible; The support is not easy to remove the parts that need to be softened. The soaking time shall not exceed 3 minutes, and attention shall be paid to soaking only the supporting parts of the parts.
3. Polishing: the parts before polishing shall be kept dry as much as possible. The cleaned parts shall be dried with compressed air. The parts that are not easy to be dried can be wiped with paper cloth. Grinding with water shall be carried out as quickly as possible to avoid excessive immersion in water, because water will soften and deform the newly fired sample (green embryo) to a certain extent. If the sample is soft before polishing, it shall be polished after standing for dehydration, and then stand for dehydration again. That is to say, the soft parts need to be dehydrated twice.
4. Static dehydration: just formed parts (green embryos) are easy to absorb water and alcohol due to the continuous internal reaction, resulting in the expansion, softening and deformation of parts. Static dehydration can further volatilize alcohol and water. Therefore, the polished parts need to be dried again with compressed air and placed in the equipment room with constant temperature and humidity. Meanwhile, it is strongly recommended to blow the positive and negative sides with a fan for 30 minutes.
5. UV post curing: the parts after static dehydration need UV post curing treatment for at least 30 minutes. It is strongly recommended that the UV post curing box be placed in the equipment room with constant temperature and humidity. The light source distribution in the UV curing box has a great influence on the curing effect, so as to ensure that the sample is uniformly radiated by the light in all directions.
