Introduction to Common Consumables and Features of 3D Printer - PETG

2022/11/29

PETG, also known as polyethylene terephthalate glycol, is a commonly used plastic in the world. The famous application is the common bottle container on the market, and also common in clothing fiber and food containers.

PET "raw material" is rarely used for 3D printing, but the modified finished product "PETG" is a popular printing wire.
PETG combines the advantages of PLA and ABS
"G" stands for "ethylene glycol modified" wire to produce more transparent, high toughness and easier to print than its base PET.
PETG is a good choice for ABS and PLA. It is more flexible and durable than PLA and easier to print than ABS.
Epidemic prevention products (the same as PLA+), advertising word industry, industrial accessories, lamps and lighting industry, electronic products, cosmetics containers, etc.

Strength: high
Flexibility: Medium
Durability: high
Use difficulty: low
Printing temperature: 230 ° C – 250 ° C
Printing bed temperature: 50 ° C – 75 ° C
Shrinkage/warpage: minimum
Soluble: No
Advantages: Toughness is higher than ABS, but it is easier to print than ABS, without edge warping, odor and bubbles... The printed material is relatively clear, combining the advantages of ABS and PLA
Disadvantages: easy to absorb moisture, sometimes it will stick to the nozzle, easy to wire drawing, not suitable for supporting materials
Our PETG has the advantages of both PLA and ABS materials:
1. Non toxic, odorless and environment-friendly materials
2. Good dimensional stability without cracks and warpage
3. Good toughness, hard to break and moisture absorption;
4. High transparency and good luster
It is applicable to a wider range of applications, including functional prototypes, end products, brackets, parts, household gadgets and robot parts.
